Bangladesh concerned over NKorea missile test
Bangladesh today expressed its grave concern at the launching of the second long-range ballistic missile by North Korea within the span of a month.
“By launching of the missile, DPRK, has shown total disregard to the international community and has violated its obligations under the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” said a foreign ministry statement.
As a signatory to the NPT and CTBT, it said Bangladesh would continue to work for the renunciation of the use of force in international relations and for general and complete disarmament.
Bangladesh urged the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea (DPRK) to fulfill its international obligations especially under the United Nations for promoting collective peace and security.
“Bangladesh calls upon DPRK to refrain from any action that could impact adversely the peace and stability in the region and beyond,” said the statement.
