We're Looking
Requirements for applying:
1. All submissions must be attached as separate doc files.
2. Maximum 3 submissions per applicant [at most 2 fiction pieces].
3. CV
4. Email the aforementioned documents to [email protected]
Include your byline and a headline.
Your byline is the name under your headline. Although your email might have your name on it, organising and managing submissions from multiple people get difficult without a byline. Include a headline as well, as your headline is a part of your write-up and it's essential for any writer to know how to put in a good headline.
Proofread you work.
If a submission is littered with grammatical and spelling errors, we instantly reject it. Good grammar is a requirement for every writer at SHOUT. The person who edits your work is also a reader; you wouldn't want your reader to think that you were sleeping during your English lessons. Also, no cursing.
Don't take the easy way out.
This is especially applicable for those who send us reviews. Don't review something that everyone has seen or read like Harry Potter, Bleach, or Toy Story.
Be Different
We have all the sad stories about crying in the rain that we'll likely ever need. Step out of the box and get our attention by writing something that sets you apart from the rest. Everyone at SHOUT has their own strengths, weaknesses, styles and areas of interest. Show us yours.
And finally, your job is to convince us to publish you.
It's always a good idea to know what SHOUT usually publishes. If you think you can add a new dimension to SHOUT, you should definitely include that in your writing.
