UP chairmen, members warned against failure to resist sabotage
State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today warned the local body representatives of action if they failed to resist subversive activities on highways in their areas.
“We will take legal action against the union parishad chairmen and members if they failed to ensure safety and security on highways in their respective areas,” Kamal said.
The Home boss came up with the warning while speaking at a meeting with Peshajibi Samanya Parishad at his ministry in Dhaka this afternoon.
The chairmen and members of union parishads would help law enforcers to resist ongoing violent activities on highways by providing information about the people involved in arson and petrol bomb attacks on vehicles, he added.
He said the law enforcement agencies will remain alert across the country ahead of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations which are scheduled to begin on February 2.
“We will remain active on the streets so that the SSC examination can be held in a peaceful manner,” he added.
He said the countrymen have already understood that the BNP’s movement is based on terrorist activities.
“We have been able to take the violent situation under control with the efforts of law enforcement agencies and the people,” he added.
