Trucker, helper burnt in Ctg petrol bomb attack
A trucker and his helper suffered burn injuries as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at his vehicle in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong this morning.
The arson attack took place on Dhaka- Chittagong highway on the 21st day of the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s countrywide nonstop blockade that started from January 5.
Truck driver Azizur Rahman, 35 and his helper Md Shamim, 23, both hailed from Keshabpur upazila of Jessore, were admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), our Chittagong correspondent reports.
Miscreants threw a petrol bomb at the onion-laden truck when the vehicle reached at Suklalahat of Barabkuda on the Dhaka- Chittagong highway around 7:00am on way to the port city, said Iftekhar Hasan, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station.
The condition of Azizur is critical with18 percent burnt injuries. Shamim received three percent burnt injuries, hospital sources said.
