Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio is an American actor and film producer, born in November 11, 1974. He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘The Aviator’ (2004). Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, DiCaprio started his career by appearing in television commercials prior to landing recurring roles in TV series such as the soap opera Santa Barbara and the sitcom Growing Pains in the early 1990s.

He is not only an artist, but an entrepreneur as well. He has explored his artistic venture as a miniature specialist to a large sized painting fabricator. He is the eminent artist and founder of Gallery Kaya Goutam Chakrabarty. Goutam believes in perfection and dedication, so he does not hesitate to spend a great deal of time on a single piece of painting. This celebrated artist shares with the Star some of the facts of his artistic journey.
Challenge that you faced while opening the gallery
I started Gallery Kaya back in 2003 in Uttara. Ten years back, Uttara was not a very happening place, whereas other areas like Dhanmondi used to work as a cultural hub for the Dhaka people. Therefore the biggest challenge was for me to arrange such interesting fests here that people would readily come this far to enjoy art.

I think I would have been a filmmaker or architect.

I don't like being static with any particular medium. I love working in watercolour, charcoal, print making, etching or oil paint.

I have made a few series on Mother Teresa and on animals like the cat, horse and elephant.
