THAT PERFECT vacation
Imagine waking up from a perfect night's sleep in a luxurious bed, with layer upon layer of super-soft yet crisp cotton linen, fluffy soft covers and plenty of plush pillows. With a smug smile on your face, you open the big French window and as far as your eyes wander, you only see rolling hills and a lush green carpet of grass studded with flowering plants and orchards; bordered by tea gardens and rubber plantations.
As you breathe in the fresh air you are giddy with the thick smell of wet grass, the jasmines and the hibiscus; you lean against the veranda only to find yourself on a hilltop French style villa. If you listen carefully amid the deafening silence of nature you can hear the far-off cry of a strange, haunting fox.
It might be almost impossible to imagine yourself in this romantic setting unless you plan to take a short vacation to The Palace Luxury Resort, in Bahubol, Habiganj.
Spread across 152 acres of land with 22 exclusive French style villas, two Presidential villas and a 24 hour butler service, the resort also boasts three helipads and three conference facilities with a capacity of 350 people in a column-less conference hall. There are two cinema theatres with a seating capacity of 48, a spa with two swimming pools, indoor games, tennis and basketball courts, volleyball, a lake for fishing and boating and a walking trail of over 7000 meters. Most importantly they have a five star hotel building, The Tower with five food and beverage outlets and room service options and 107 rooms and many more.
And exactly at this spot you will find your heaven on earth. Sipping a freshly squeezed pineapple juice from the resort's own plantation, you will find the resort's dining an overwhelming experience. With an array of fresh mocktails, their creative presentation of the salad and the salsa bar is bound to catch your attention. The food and desserts served are truly a sensational treat to your palate.
Touring the entire resort area in golf carts you can actually visualise the magnitude of the posh estate.
The Palace Luxury Resort, the only 5-Star Luxury Resort in the country, nestled in the lap of tea estates in Bahubol on the outskirts of Srimangal and Habiganj will be launched at the end of 2014.
“We started construction three years ago, when the original plan was to build villas like tea garden bungalows and build a retreat with a feel of tea gardens,” says Iqbal Ahmed, Chief Strategy Officer, adding that the plan later changed and evolved into building the largest resort in Bangladesh.
“A fibre optic network has been installed across the resort area of 152 acres and it has underground power cables. We intend to use technology keeping nature intact and amid these we hope to create a haven for the tech savvy. Wi-fi enabled data infrastructure giving you the fastest Internet in Bangladesh is provided by Grameen IT (GPIT),” Ahmed explains how they are targeting the tech savvy generation and trying to feel their pulse by giving them a resort they would love to visit.
“More than 70 percent of our operations team is made up of Bangladeshis who were trained and have worked for more than five years in luxury hotels and resorts abroad. We are leaving no stones unturned to give our clients the best service”, he says.
The Tower with French decor, offers Vietnamese and other Asian fine dining restaurants. Besides these, their indoor games facility is laudable, the cricket practicing grounds and cinema halls deserve worthy appreciation; all of which are inclusive in the price.
“Our landscaping has been going on for three years and still under construction are our rubber plantation, lychee, pineapple, lemon and jackfruit orchards and olive groves. The Palace Luxury Resort is owned by Green Planet Resorts Limited and Arifur Rahman is our Managing Director and CEO,” Ahmed adds.
Nestled between tea gardens and rolling hills The Palace Luxury Resort is a comfortable and private retreat, perfectly integrated into the lush tropical environment. The resort elegantly combines the nature and new technologies that is surrounded by luxuriant vegetation with menaces like fireflies, toads and ants and state-of-art Hi-tech facilities.
A reputed British company has already completed Carbon Footprint assessment and declared the resort a Green Project. It is an eco-resort with a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly team which offers comfortable level of personalised services. Gourmet Meals, prepared with fresh local produce by chefs of international calibre, are true treats.
The rays of streaming sunlight, the calm serenity of dawn with butterflies fluttering, the dragon-flies and the silent stepping ants scurrying around in that still morning silence, the soft murmurs of swaying leaves only make you realise how beautiful Bangladesh is and that now you can go on luxurious vacations to relax within your own borders.
And the beauty without is matched by the beauty within. The tasteful décor and artwork that lends the unmistakable air of class to the interior was selected through consultation with Goutam Chakraborty, renowned artist and director of Galleri Kaya.
