Taijul makes history on debut
Left arm orthodox bowler Taijul Islam became the first cricketer in history to get a hat-trick on debut during Bangladesh-Zimbabwe 5th ODI at Mirpur today.
The 22-year-old bowled Chatara, Panyangara and trapped Nymbu leg before to claim his hat-trick. He ended with four wickets in seven overs at an economy rate of 1.5.
He was the fourth Bangladeshi bowler to claim a hat-trick in ODIs beside Shahadat Hossain, Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain.
In his Test career, Taijul has taken 25 wickets in five Test matches with two five-wicket hauls at an average of around 27 and best figures of 9/34 against Zimbabwe in October.
Debuting in Test against Zimbabwe this year, he took five wickets in his first match.
Taijul also has 26 wickets in the 22 Twenty20 international matches he played.
