BNP chairperson's special assistant Shimul Biswas today got bail in a case filed over Hefajat-e Islam's May 5 violence. Following the bail order, there is no legal bar for his release as he secured bail from the High Court in another four cases against him, Sanaullah Mia, lawyer of Shimul, told The Daily Star. Judge Md Zahirul Haque granted Shimul bail after his lawyer submitted a bail petition challenging a lower court's bail rejection order. Earlier he was shown arrested on January 2 in this case. A total of five cases were filed against the BNP leader for Hefajat mayhem on May 5 and hartal violence.
