Criminals shot the son of a foreign exchange trader dead and wounded the father in front of their home in Khilgaon of Dhaka last night and took away currencies worth Tk 47 lakh. An alleged mugger was killed in an "encounter" with the Detective Branch of police in the capital's Hatirjheel yesterday. The deceased was identified as Rajib Hossain, 27, of Rampura. An alleged mugger was beaten to death by a mob at Lalbagh in the capital this evening. A group of four to five suspected muggers wielding sharp weapons were collecting toll from pedestrians at Gajannath Shah Road around 6:00pm. An alleged mugger was killed in a “gunfight” with members of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) at Khilgaon in the capital early today.
