Ex-Jubo Dal leader shot dead in Dhaka

Unknown miscreants gunned down a local leader of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal at Hazaribagh in Dhaka this afternoon. Deceased Afzal Hossain Sattar, known as Gal Kata Sattar, 50, was former president of Jubo Dal ward No. 48. A businessman, Sattar was a close associate of former BNP lawmaker Nasiruddin Ahmed Pintu. Witnesses said two gunmen riding a motorcycle reached the spot and sprayed bullets on Sattar when he went out of a local mosque after Zohr prayers. He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 3:15pm, said Mozammel Haque, inspector and in-charge of DMCH police camp.
