Two alleged drug smugglers were killed in separate “shootouts” with law enforcers in Mymensingh and Cox’s Bazar early today. Hossain Ahmed, 32, was killed in a “gunfight” with the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Cox’s Bazar while Rafiqul Islam Khokon, 40, with police in Mymensingh. An alleged mugger was killed in police firing while a gang was fleeing after snatching valuables from a man in Mymensingh town early yesterday. The driver and helper of a coal-laden truck were burnt in a firebomb attack on the Dhaka-Bogra highway in Bogra's Shajahanpur upazila this evening.
