A Dhaka court today framed defamation charges against BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain for “threatening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with death”. The court fixed January 22 next year for starting the trial of the case. AB Siddique, president of Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad, a pro-Awami league organisation, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka on January 20 last year. A Dhaka court yesterday took cognisance of charge against former health and family welfare minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a case filed for laundering over Tk 9.53 crore to the United Kingdom. The Anti-Corruptin Commission yesterday pressed charges against BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a case filed in connection with siphoning off over Tk 9.53 crore to the United Kingdom. ACC Director Nasim Anwar, also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka and also showed eight people as prosecution witnesses in it. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today interrogated the wife of BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in connection with a money laundering case. Ahsan Ali, deputy director of the anti-graft body, quizzed Bilkis Akter for two hours from around 10:00am at the ACC's Segunbagicha office in the capital. Mosharraf’s bail cancelled

The Supreme Court today cancelled a High Court order that granted anticipatory bail to BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain in a money laundering case. A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain passed the order after disposing of an appeal filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against the High Court order. The High Court, on February 10, granted anticipatory bail to Khandaker Mosharraf for six weeks in the case.
