Banglalink staff murdered in Manikganj

A Banglalink staff was murdered in Manikganj on Wednesday night after looting money and motorcycle from him after killing.
The victim was identified as Md Korban Ali, 30, son Nabi Box Sarkar of Kismotpholia in Gaibandha Sadar upazila. He was a sales representative of Manikganj branch of the mobile phone company.
He lived at a rented house at Bandutia in the town with his wife and only kid.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ghior Police Station Afsar Uddin told this correspondent that the body was recovered from Beribadh of Baniajuri at 8:00am and sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The victim was suffocated to death with a plastic rope that was tied behind the motorcycle, he added.
Police recovered the motorcycle from Mohadevpur area under Shivalaya Police Station and earlier found Tk 6000 in the pockets of the body, the OC said.
Banglalink Manikganj branch office sources said Korban went to Daulatpur upazila by a motorcycle as part of his duties and collected Tk 40,000 from different markets, but did not return to the office.
The victim had also two mobile phone sets and Tk 4000 with him, the sources added.
Bashir Ahmed Benu, director of the Manikganj branch, yesterday filed a murder case with Ghior Police Station. |
