A colourful rally and a cartoon exhibition marking the International Anti-Corruption Day generated much excitement among the younger generation here, recently.

Marking the day, local units of Concerned Citizens' Committee (CCC) and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) brought out a rally from its office located at Nutun Bazar area in the district town. Later the rally terminated at the premises of Government Ananda Mohan College.

Students from different educational institutions, members of Youth Engagement and Support (YES) and YES Friends Group of TIB took part in the rally in hundreds.

Speakers at the rally observed that the energetic youth can root out corruption from society as well as the country. "We should observe the day with a vow that we will have no association with corruption," said the speakers.

Deputy commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Mohammad Morshed Alam, president of District Corruption Prevention Committee Anisur Rahman Khan, convener (in-Charge) of CCC local unit Professor Mukarrom Hossain, CCC members Mohammad Momtaz Uddin, Ferdous Ara Mahmuda Helen, Mir Golam Mustafa and Sharifuzzaman Parag addressed the rally.

Later, a cartoon exhibition was inaugurated at the college premises. Vice-principal of the college, Professor Rokeya Begum inaugurated the exhibition which displayed a large number of cartoons on corruption.
