Harvard confce on Bangladesh in June

A two-day conference on Bangladesh will begin on June 13 at Harvard University in the USA.
Bangladesh Development Initiative (BDI), a USA-based non-profit organization, in collaboration with Democracy and Development in Bangladesh Forum (DDBF), Boston, Massachusetts, and The Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation, John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, will organise the two-day conference titled 'Bangladesh in the 21st century'.
According to BDI website, Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury, vice-chancellor of Brac University, Bangladesh, will present the keynote paper at the conference, while Dr Rounaq Jahan, senior researcher and assistant faculty member at Southern Asian Institute of Columbia University, and Masihur Rahman, former secretary, will attend as speakers.
Issues, such as the country's economic situation, foreign aid and liability, investment, remittance, private sector, ready-made garment, education and health standard, transformation into democracy, foreign policy, micro credit and NGO will be discussed at the conference.
Mamun Rashid of Citibank, NA will also deliver a speech on Bangladesh's capital market at the conference. |
