Police and Narcotics Control Task Force, in separate drives, seized 13 kgs of hemp, phensidyl syrup and liquor and arrested two people from Burichang and Monohorganj upazilas of the district on Thursday.

On secret information, police raided a house at Dharmapur in Burichang and arrested Khadiza Begum, wife of Zahir, along with 13 kgs of hemp.

A case was filed against Khadiza and her husband Zahir in this connection.

On the same day, Narcotics Control Task Force arrested drug peddler Harun from Bipulasar Bazar in Monohorganj upazila and seized six bottles of phensidyl and two bottles of whiskey from his possession.
