Mahmudur Rahman, acting editor of the Amar Desh, was reportedly assaulted by a group of people in London on Friday.

A few media reports said Mahmudur Rahman claimed that the attackers were the supporters of Awami League who chased him shouting 'thief, thief'. But their identity could not be known.

Meanwhile, BNP and its front organisations, Doctors' Association of Bangladesh and Association of Engineers Bangladesh have condemned the attack on Mahmudur Rahman, also former energy adviser to former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
