Campus anarchy won't be tolerated
Says PM's adviser

Adviser to the Prime Minister for Health and Family Welfare Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali yesterday said the government would not tolerate any anarchy in the educational institutes any more.
" Violence in the name of Chhatra League where most of the chaos occurred due to infiltrators to the party will not be tolerated any more. If anybody resorts to anarchy he will be punished sternly," he said.
While addressing the international symposium on 'Liver transplantation' as the chief guest at Shaheed Dr Milon Hall at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), he said the government will show zero tolerance to recruitment business, crime and irregularities in all the educational institutions, including medical institutes.
Association for the Study of the Liver, Dhaka, Viral Hepatitis Foundation Bangladesh and Columbia Asia jointly organised the symposium.
He said all kinds of logistics support will be given for liver transplantation at the BSMMU.
The experts at the symposium talked on need for liver transplantation, its status in developing countries like Bangladesh and the BSMMU perspective.
Dr Sanjay Govil and Dr Naresh Bhat of Columbia Asia Hospital, India and Prof Dr Salimur Rahman and Prof Zulfiqar Rahman Khan of BSMMU presented scientific papers on liver transplantation.
Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuiyan Dablu, health and population affairs secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, Prof Mahmud Hasan, president of Bangladesh Medical Association, Prof Dr Sharfuddin Ahmed, secretary general and Vice Chancellor of BSMMU Pran Gopal Datta were present at the programme. |
