Former divisional forest officer (DFO) of Sundarbans Forest Division Md Asaduzzaman has been sued for acquiring wealth and property beyond his source of income.

Deputy Director of greater Khulna Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Md Manzur Morshed lodged an FIR with Khulna Sadar Police Station Thursday at 8:30pm. The FIR was later recorded as a case under section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act.

According to the FIR, on April 13 the ACC issued him a letter asking his wealth and property statement.

In response Asaduzzaman submitted a statement of his wealth and property worth Tk 1,93,6,578.

However, a thorough investigation revealed that the accused concealed information of property worth Tk 1,03,97,113 in the statement.

Asaduzzaman retired as the DFO of Dinajpur last year. He now permanently resides in his own house at Nirala residential area in Khulna city.
