Youth development through mountaineering
Rope4 Outdoor Education is going to introduce adventurous activities like mountaineering through the event "Mission Himalaya 2018" to the young people of Bangladesh. It is hoped that, such challenges will motivate the youths to take up an active and healthy lifestyle, leading to their personal development and finding the hidden strength within.
Mission Himalaya 2018 is comprised of three stages. First, three workshops will take place in February and March of this year, at the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. The workshops will accommodate 20 participants each, where they would be taught and guided on mountaineering. From each workshop, eight to ten participants will be selected for the next phase, which is a 3-day-long training camp called 'Preparation for the Expedition'. The Hazarikhil Wildlife Sanctuary in Chittagong is going to host the training in March, 2018.
Finally, the three best performers of Mission Himalaya 2018 will be awarded with a chance to take part in an expedition in either India or Nepal. The expedition is scheduled to talk place in April or May of 2018.
