Socio Camp 8: First Workshop Held

Socio Camp 8, the biggest idea generating competition for raising social awareness, marched towards its eighth season on October 27, 2017, with the first-round workshop being held inside the North South University campus. This workshop included participation of 539 teams from different universities from all over the country. North South University Social Services Club was the host of the event.

The event was inaugurated with a speech from the President of North South University Social Services Club, Mr. Asif Mahmud. Following this, the faculty advisor of North South University Social Services Club, Mr. Faiz Hosain, took the stage. He further discussed about the case provided to the participants in the workshop in detail, so that, they would not face any obstacles while solving it.

Henceforth, the Joint Secretary of the club, Mr. Saef Uz Zaman Rafi, enlightened everyone about the workshop and the success of the event through a press release. He also mentioned, "Socio Camp is not an event solely for our club and the university. It is a bearer of the outlook of the students across the country. A lot of the societal problems often escape the attention of the authority; Socio Camp is a magnifying glass to put forth these problems under the light." The President of the club, Mr. Asif Mahmud, added, "There used to be a time when we thought that it would be beneficial for everyone if we took some specific actions towards tackling some problems of the society. The question aroused ‘How will we do it?’ would pop up. And now, there is Socio Camp and probably other universities are also taking steps to facilitate such competitions."
