Abu Saleh Musa fetched a bigger price than his more illustrious countryman Ziaur Rahman when they were bought by Mumbai in the auction for the Indian Pro Kabaddi League on Tuesday. The Bangladesh Army player Musa was bought by Mumbai for 3.10 lakh rupees while Zia, once regarded as Asia's best raider, was bought by the same team for 2 lakh rupees. However, Araduzzaman, another Bangladeshi player put on auction, remained unsold.
Musa exclaimed his pleasure at being bought by the Mumbai team. “It's not a big matter that I was bought for more than Zia bhai, rather we are getting opportunity to play in such a league is the big thing,” said Musa.
The league, styled after cricket's money-spinning franchise league IPL, will start from July 26. Eight franchises will participate in the inaugural edition of the league, which will be played on a home and away basis.
