Muktijoddha Sangsad made sure they finish third in the Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier League when they notched a lone-goal win over lowly Feni Soccer Club in their penultimate match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
The 13th win in 26 matches meant Muktijoddha went beyond the reach of Mohammedan with 46 points as the latter stayed in the fourth place with 42 points with one match in hand.
Rather Muktijoddha have a slim chance of finishing behind champions Sheikh Jamal DC if the All Reds can beat bottom-side Uttar Baridhara and Abahani go down against Chittagong Abahani in their respective last match.
After finishing runners-up in Federation Cup, the season's curtain-raising tournament, Muktijoddha promised to finish among the top three in the ten-team league and Nigerian Eleta Kingsley realised that by scoring the all-important goal in the 34th minute.
Feni were now lying in the ninth position with 18 points from 26 matches.
