In an all-round performance from the Sri Lankans in their 129-run win over Afghanistan yesterday, Thisara Perera played an important role with both the ball and the bat. The much underrated all-rounder, in a team full of stars, Perera quietly went about his job. The all-rounder added valuable 19 runs in an unbeaten 79-run partnership with his skipper Angelo Mathews to get the Lankan score 253. Then he struck with the ball taking three crucial wickets in the Afghanistan innings to bowl them out for 129.
