Siddikur's Indonesian challenge
Bangladesh's premier golfer Siddikur Rahman will be looking to bounce back to form when he takes on a stellar field in the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters starting today.
The 30-year-old golfer has not had a great season so far, missing cut in the first two events of the Asian Tour before relinquishing a winnable opportunity in the Hero Indian Open to eventually finish joint seventh, earlier in February.
Siddikur did participate in a couple of events at home since and finished third in the Patron's Cup last week before flying off to Indonesia.
The two-time Asian Tour winner, who will tee off at 11:45am local time, will have to contend with 144 golfers from around the world including former world number-one Lee Westwood of England, 15-time European Tour winner Thomas Bjorn of Denmark, multiple-time Asian Tour winner Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand, among others, in this 750,000-dollar event.
