Usama Mir, the leg-break bowler who was the leading wicket-taker in Pakistan's domestic T20 tournament, has said that his dream is to wear the green jersey and play for his country.
The 19-year-old youngster, who hails from Sialkot, has impressed the fans and selectors after taking 12 wickets in nine T20 matches in Super8 Twenty20 tournament.
Coming from a country which has been famous for producing great fast bowlers, Mir said there is a lot of talent in the country, not just fast bowlers and batsman, but spinners as well, Pak Passion reported.
Mir, who started playing cricket at the Amir Waseem Cricket Academy in Sialkot, has never looked back since then.
Mir regards his Sialkot Stallion's captain Shoaib Malik as his role model. The youngster said that he has learnt a lot from him.
Mir, who was about to being called for the Under 19 World Cup, was banned for an year because he was unaware about the Pakistan Cricket Board's rule which states that a cricketer cannot play Under 19 cricket for more than three seasons.
Mir unknowingly played a match for the fourth season in which he bowled only a couple of overs.
Mir has been currently working with the legendary spinner Mushtaq Ahmad at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore and is hopeful of achieving his ultimate goal, which is to play for Pakistan.
