PERFORMER OF THE DAY
MOMINUL HAQUE
Having not played a match since the second Test against England at the end of October, it seemed yesterday that Mominul Haque had never been away from the game. He found himself at the crease just 2.2 overs into the first Test against New Zealand in alien conditions, but he played an immaculate, composed innings as he remained unbeaten at the end of the first day for a 110-ball 64. Mominul demonstrated just how to deal with the conditions as he took 30 balls to find his feet before finally hitting his first boundary. He followed that with 10 more fours and a six as Bangladesh soared to a strong position.
