PERFORMER OF THE DAY
KANE WILLIAMSON
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson truly led from the front yesterday. With the ball he bowled eight miserly overs, gave away just 24 runs and scalped a wicket. With the bat he scored a cautious, unbeaten 95 off 116 balls to lead his side over the line. He helped revive the hosts from precarious moments twice yesterday. Bangladesh's openers were cruising at 102 for no loss initially, and that's when Williamson's tidy overs kept the visitors in check. With the bat, he began his innings when New Zealand were effectively 16 for 2 with Martin Guptill retiring hurt. It was an excellent allround display.
