Afghanistan into U-19 Asia Cup final
Afghanistan Under-19 off-spinner Mujeeb Zadran wove a web around Nepal's batsmen, picking six wickets for just 28 runs and paving the way for the country's first final berth at the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup through a seven-wicket win in the semifinal in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Nine Nepal batsmen were dismissed in the single digits as the group-stage vanquishers of powerhouse India were skittled out for a paltry 103. The only score of note was batsman Anil Sah's 57-ball 50.
In chase, Afghanistan's brisk chase was powered by Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 71 off 65 balls with nine fours and two sixes. Gurbaz fell to Sandeep Lamichhane seven runs short of the target. An over later, Afghanistan were victors by seven wickets with a massive 29.3 overs to spare.
Pakistan had earlier qualified for the finals on Thursday by virtue of their two-run victory through the D/l method over Bangladesh in the first semifinal.
