Bangladesh decimate Kyrgyzstan
The Bangladesh under-16 women’s team decimated Kyrgyzstan in their AFC U-16 Women Championship's Group C Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, putting ten goals past their hapless opponents -- the biggest margin of victory in the Group C Qualifiers so far.
With an aim to reduce their goal-difference with Chinese Taipei, the Bangladesh women put in a flawless performance, dominating from the onset and never letting their foot off the gas.
The Kyrgyzstan defence was never up to par -- they had already conceded 16 goals in their past two games, including a 9-0 drubbing to Chinese Taipei.
Going into the match, Chinese Taipei were enjoying a three-goal advantage over the hosts. However, the hosts dominant performance was enough to cover up even Chinese Taipei’s massive 9-0 win over Singapore earlier in the day.
Bangladesh will play their final game against the table-toppers on Saturday. A draw would mean goal difference would come into the equation and see Chinese Taipei through, which means Bangladesh must be at their best and claim a win to progress to the next round.
