Tigers' training camp from today
The 32-member preliminary Bangladesh squad will begin their training camp today for the upcoming tri-nation ODI series, comprised of hosts Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, and the following two Tests and two T20Is against Sri Lanka at home.
Apart from ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal, all other members of the squad will be available for the Beep Test on the opening day of the seven-day conditioning camp under trainer Mario Villavarayan. Mashrafe had earlier requested a leave and is currently in Thailand for his daughter's eye treatment while Tamim incurred an allergic reaction from his hair treatment and understandably also asked for a leave until January 1.
During the camp, the cricketers will be divided into to two groups when training in the gym and will also undergo bowling sessions until January 3. After that begins the skill training sessions which will be concluded by a match-scenario practice under lights at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on January 10.
The Zimbabwe team is set to arrive on January 10 and then participate in a tour game against the BCB XI at the BKSP-4 ground on January 13, the same day that the Sri Lankan contingent is scheduled to arrive.
On January 15 the Tigers will take on Zimbabwe in the first match of the tri-nation series, where all the fixtures are going to be day-night affairs, while the final will take place on January 27.
