Australia beat Scotland by 7 wickets
Australia won the rain-disrupted 40th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 against Scotland at Bellerive Oval in Hobart today.
Fast bowler Mitchell Starc was awarded the Player of the Match reward for his sharp bowling performance, four wickets for 14 runs in only 4.4 overs.
In chase of Scotland's 130 runs, Australia reached the target on the 16th over losing only three wickets.
Australian top-orders Michael Clarke, Aaron Finch and Shane Watson departed after scoring 47, 20 and 24 respectively, while James Faulkner and David Warner took the team ashore.
Ian Wardlaw, Rob Taylor and Josh Davey picked one wicket each for the Scottish side.
Earlier after winning the toss, Australia sent Scotland to bat first and showed a fearsome bowling performance.
Scotland lost all wickets and managed to score 130 runs in 25.4 overs.
First-down batsman Matt Machan scored most runs for the Scots, 40. Tail-ender Josh Davey was the second highest scorer who put 26 runs to the board.
Five Scottish batsmen scored ducks in the match -- Kyle Coetzer, Preston Mommsen, Freddie Coleman, Rob Taylor and Ian Wardlaw.
Starc and Pat Cummins picked up 4 and 3 wickets each.
