Shun violence for talks, Inu tells BNP
BNP-led 20-party will have to shun violence for talks, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said today reiterating the government’s stand over the prevailing political impasse.
However, he ruled out any immediate possibility of dialogue, pushed by different quarters of the society, and asserted that the stalemate will be “resolved on the streets”.
“Khaleda Zia can pave way for talks and create a congenial environment in its favour if she shuns from the path of terrorism,” Inu said while addressing a 'Meet the Press' programme organised at the Secretariat this morning.
“The resolution of the prevailing impasse will be on the streets, not on a table.”
Inu repeated a hint that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia might be sued in more cases for her incitation role in the subversive activities throughout the country that killed 32 people so far.
“More cases will be filed against her (Khaleda) for her role in the prevailing violence,” he said.
