SHUVO: LIFE, LOVE & MORE
Where do you think you are in the industry today and have you made any mistakes when starting out?
I've never really thought of "my place" since the beginning. I just continued working, from modelling to television to films. The people have always appreciated my efforts to do something good. I have always worked for them, and hope to continue doing so. If I have to make an analogy, I'd say I'm a 9th grade student now in the film industry and I will only pass my secondary exams when the fans want me to, and I want to do it in a well enough manner. Up until now, I don't see any of the works I have chosen or anything I have done as a mistake, and I hope that remains to be so for the future as well.
When did the fans truly accept you and how are you spending your time in the industry now?
I would say that the audience first noticed me through "Purnodoirgho Premkahini". However "Chuye Dile Mon" is where I first found my stride as a film actor. It's after that that I truly felt I had reached the audience and was able to leave a lasting impression in their minds. I'm mostly busy with films nowadays and that has taken over my life to the extent that I don't even have any leisure time. I've been working around the year, and cannot even catch a break for myself. I have just finished working in 2 films, and currently working in one more. When I do find the occasional break, I like listening to music and watching movies.
So what do you think about love? How did you meet your wife and who proposed?
I feel that love is an essential force. It's a huge field to explore and I do not believe that it should be restricted to people only. Love is universal and can be for one's work, or even things. I love my wife a lot but I never really proposed to her. We used to be friends and one day I realized that she would be a splendid person to spend the rest of my life with. However, I did propose to her when it was for her hand in marriage. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Now that you're here, at this level in the industry, what are your feelings and what plans are there for the future?
I was talking to Tisha about this very topic a few minutes back. I have faced a lot of struggles in my personal as well as professional life, but now when I see myself here, working in the big screen with famous artists, directors and technicians, it feels very surreal. I have only 8 films to my credit while others who started out at the same time have 18, but the recognition and the love that fans have shown me in this short exposure is far more than what many receive throughout their lifetime, and definitely more than I have ever hoped for. I have learned more than I thought I would thanks to the recognition I have received in the industry and I hope I can keep working like this till the end.
What films are in store for the future?
My next film, as most people know by now is "Ostitto" with the gorgeous Tisha. It is directed by Ononno Mamun and I'm sure the fans will like this. I know the performance Tisha has given for this venture, and it will surely be well received among her fans. It's in the editing process now and I firmly believe that Ononno Mamun will deliver an excellent film. After that, the fans will see me in Zakir Hossain Raju sir's "Niyoti". I'm very optimistic about this as well, which will be followed up by "Musafir" by Ashikur Rahman. It's safe to say that I will be quite visible in the release charts for the next few months and would urge the fans and supporters of the film industry to be with us. I believe none of the ventures would disappoint, and will lead to more love and support from them.
