ISHIKA - Still Married?
She also mentioned that she wants to emphasize on continuing acting even though she mentioned in a previous interview that continuing acting alongside marriage was going to be difficult for her, especially since the marriage is long-distant. It is very hard to tell how she will be managing her career alongside her marriage in the long-run (since she is denying the rumors).
Ishika is one of the most popular faces among newcomers in Bangladesh's film industry. The way she was introduced to this industry is unlike any other story. Being a die-hard fan of cricket, she never missed a game of the national team that took place in Bangladesh; be it in Dhaka or Sylhet, no camera could stop gazing at her in the stadium. Following the days in the stadium, she became quite a popular face to the camera and her constant status updates regarding cricket had earned her a bunch of followers.
This increasing popularity opened new doors for Ishika and a brand new industry for her to explore. Initially, she chose to pursue a career in modeling and furthermore decided to try anchoring. Eventually she became keen towards the film industry and decided to become an actress. Starting with television dramas, Ishika became very popular among the youth.
To this day, she is fanatical towards cricket and her devotion shows when she decides to take breaks from work to indulge herself in cricket matches that is taking place in Bangladesh, regardless of the location the game takes place in.
The occurrence of divorces in the film industry is however quite common in Bangladesh. There have been several similar cases where the marriage may have seemed to be everlasting, but could not live up to the expectation and started crumbling within a month or two.
Therefore, it has become very stereotypical of people to think that the people involved in the media cannot make their marriages last. A common notion exists among everyone that if the people who are involved in media, get married, it puts an end to their career and it was especially focused on actresses. In Ishika's case, whether getting married early will affect her career is subject to debate. The amount of failed marriages in this industry is noteworthy and can be separately discussed in an article.
This raises questions in the minds of people as to why should someone get married in the first place if the relationship was not strong enough to last even for a month? The reasons for the split-ups could be several, and is a topic itself that could be discussed in another issue of Showbiz; however, Ishika's reason seems to be speculated on the fact that her husband lives in London, making it very difficult for them to spend time together.
The notion of long-distance relationships/marriages not working out has long been in the hearts and minds of the people in Bangladesh. But what could possibly be the reason of a split-up between such a robust couple? Could "outside" involvement be the reason for the separation? Or was it a problem that existed from the very first of their relationship? There are numerous questions that may arise in the minds of her fans and critics.
Was it really necessary for Ishika to marry this early since this could possibly hamper her career in the film industry? Possible reasons could be endless; whether this controversial marriage still exists and if the rumor will turn out to be good or bad for her is a mystery to all, but speculating through heard buzzes all around, and the constant denial of Ishika, Showbiz can only make the ever clichéd remark for her fans and critics: "Only time will tell".
