Unforgettable Life Lessons
Life lasts for a long, long time. As you stumble along the great road before you, you'll experience uncountable moments of joy and turmoil. As we grow, we'll relax in the highs, but during the lows? That's when you get up, dust yourself off and learn from the situation. This refines who you are as a person. There are plenty of life lessons strewn on the path, and here are some very important life lessons that none of us should ever forget.
This is a very common mistake and difficult to learn from, but DON'T pour the milk before the cereal. Always remember the tears you shed as you looked in disbelief at your milk-filled bowl which was devoid of cereal. Remember that it's too much work to put the milk back where it came from. Especially if you got it fresh from a cow because, clearly, that's never going back in there.
Second in line: going to the bathroom without your phone. Frankly speaking, this is like torturing yourself. At least, if you find that your cereal box is empty, depending on your desperation to fix your mistakes, you can head out and go get a new box in a few minutes; some of us even have convenience stores downstairs. When you get into the bathroom without your phone and you've sat down, there's no turning back.
Regarding another bathroom issue, do not forget to take a towel before you shower unless your bathroom is inside your room and you've locked your room door. You don't want to be spending so much time wishing you were a chameleon. Thankfully, a bright side about this screw up is that you now have time to upgrade your sneak skills to 100%.
Living in a tropical region, mosquito bites in Bangladesh are an everyday thing. It's one thing you can't avoid no matter how much you want to. However, the life lesson lies not in avoiding getting bitten, but in getting bitten. You see, when you get bitten by a mosquito, you must ALWAYS dig your nail into the bite and make a cross mark on it. The mosquitoes don't want you to be cross with them.
Humans are relatively akin to their canine best friends. If you've ever had a dog, you'll notice that the friendly ones often have a tendency to approach you with a grin, proceed to sniffing you before trying to show their newfound affection for you by licking you. We must follow in their footsteps and approach books in kind; with a smile on our face, and then sniff the pages to make sure the book is friendly. Please don't lick it, though; that's rather awkward for the book.
Lying down on a pillow, it's easy to forget the fact that your pillow gets warm due to your own body heat. Always remember to turn over the pillow to the cold side after a while. Admittedly, this one isn't much of a life lesson but you never know, the other side of the pillow might have cookies.
Another necessary survival skill: turning off lights at bedtime. As you approach the switches, the air around you grows colder and faint whispers are heard in the background. You turn off the lights and suddenly, you can feel a cold, clammy hand at your shoulder, the whispers growing louder. Removing yourself from its clutches, you feel more hands trying to grasp at you, but you run to the bed as distant screams of the dead rain down on you. You quickly jump into your blankets and suddenly, tranquillity reigns again. "What do we say to the god of death? Not today."
Of course, as usual, it's impossible to include so many life lessons because so many of them are important. After all, life last for such a long time, doesn't it? In fact, some very important life lessons listed here might not even be for you. Maybe you pour the milk before the cereal, or you don't need a phone in the bathroom, or maybe your sneak skills are already maxed out. But, there is one life lesson, a universally-known life lesson, that none of us must ever forget: always pop the bubble wrap. Need I say anything more about this one?
