Road crashes kill 3 in Sherpur, Ctg
In two separate road accidents, three people were killed in Sherpur Sadar upazila and Patiya upazila of Chittagong last night.
In Sherpur, two persons were killed on the spot after a sand-laden truck ran over a motorbike on Sherpur-Jhinaighati road around 9:00pm, reports our local correspondent quoting Majharul Karim, officer-in-charge of Sherpur Sadar Police Station.
The deceased were Alimul Haq, 32, a contractor and Joynal Abedin, 33, a shop owner, both from the upazila.
Borsha Begum, wife of Joynal filed a case with the police station early today, the OC said. The truck was held but its driver managed to flee.
In Chittagong, one died and another was injured when a bus hit a motorcycle on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Bellapara area around 10:30pm, reports our local correspondent.
The deceased is Muslim Uddin, 26, and injured is Ruhul Ameen, 19, both hailed from Lama of Bandarban.
Muslim succumbed at Chittagong Medical College Hospital around 11:10pm, said Nayek Jahangir Alam of CMCH Police Camp.
