Road accidents kill six, injure two
Countrywide road accidents killed six people and injured two others yesterday and Monday.
Our Gazipur correspondent reports, a worker of RAK Ceramic Mamun Mia, 35, of Mymensingh, died when a bus hit him while he was crossing the road in front of his factory in Nayanpur area of Sreepur upazila yesterday.
Following the incident hundreds of workers of the factory blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway for two hours creating two-kilometre tailback, vandalised at least 10 vehicles and set fire on a bus.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, Abu Bakar Siddique, 45, of Shokor-Chadpur village, died after falling on the road from a Rickshaw-van as a truck hit the van in Hapania bazar area of Naogaon Sadar upazila, yesterday.
A correspondent from Chittagong reports, Dilip Chandra Sutradhar, 65, of East Syedpur, died when a bus ran him over while he was crossing Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Shitalpur area of Sitakunda yesterday.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent reports, Komola Rani, 65, of Kastor village, died when a motorcycle hit her from behind on Pirganj-Nasibganj road near Brac office in Pirganj upazila on Monday.
Our Gopalganj correspondent adds a person died and two others were injured when a human-hauler fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the vehicle on Kotalipara-Tungipara road in Madhukhali area of Tungipara upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Moslem Daria, 67, of Penakhali village.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent reports, Rasheduzzaman, 22, son of Johirul Islam of Chakla village, died when a bus hit his motorcycle on Panchagarh-Debiganj road in Panidubi village under Boda upazila yesterday.
