Rizwana's husband found
Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of Bela chief Syeda Rizwana Hasan, has been found two days into his abduction.
Siddique was taken to his residence at Central Road around 3:00am after filing a general diary with Dhanmondi Police Station in the capital by his family members.
Gunmen kidnapped Siddique around 2:30pm on Wednesday in Fatullah of Narayanganj on his way to Dhaka. The rescue operation began soon after and continued throughout Wednesday night and yesterday.
Policemen found him inside a CNG-run auto-rickshaw when they stopped the vehicle at a check post on Mirpur road in Kalabagan on Firday around 1:30pm, Sub-Inspector Taslim, told The Daily Star Online.
Siddique and the auto-rickshaw driver were taken to Dhanmondi Police Station, the SI, also a duty officer of the police station, said.
After being informed of his appearance his wife Rizwana along with family members went to the police station, the SI said.
Siddique is the managing director of Hamid Fashion, a Narayanganj-based garment factory owned by Awami League lawmaker and State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid Bipu.
Meanwhile, 43 rights activists and civil society members yesterday expressed deep concern over his abduction and law enforcers' failure to rescue him.
