Rivals kill outlaw in Chuadanga
Leader of an outlawed party was killed allegedly by his party rivals at Charulia village in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district early yesterday.
Informed by locals, police recovered the body from a mango orchard the village yesterday morning.
The deceased is Saiful Islam alias Sumon, 40, son of late Nazrul Islam, of Ramnagar village in the upazila.
Kamruzzaman, officer in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station, said Sumon, a leader of outlawed Purbo Bangar Communist Party (PBCP-ML) was holding a secret meeting with his accomplices at a mango orchard owned by one Kanai Babu at the village.
At one stage of the meeting, one of his accomplices shot Sumon in his chest, leaving him dead on the spot around 1:00am.
Sumon was accused in a dozen of cases, including four for murder, filed with Damurhuda and Alamdanga police stations, added the OC.
