Recitation at IGCC marking International Mother Language Day
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is organising “Ami Tomaey Bhalobashi” - an evening of poetry recitation by Dahlia Ahmed, Jayanto Chattopadhayay and Rana Thakur on the occasion of International Mother Language Day at 6:30pm today at its Gulshan premises.
Elocutionist Dahlia Ahmed has an ardent passion for languages, particularly phonetics and pronunciation. She has participated in several national programmes and has given background voice to many stage shows, dance dramas, documentaries and live commentaries. Dahlia has recited poetry and dance dramas all over Bangladesh and abroad.
Jayanto Chattopadhyay is a well-known recitation artist, elocutionist and actor. He has immensely contributed to establishing and popularising recitation as a separate medium of performing arts in Bangladesh. He has performed as a professional recitation artiste in Mumbai, New York, Detroit, Florida, Paris and many other cities around the world.
Rana Thakur is a recitation artiste and translator. He has a keen interest in Rabindranath Tagore's philosophy and works. He has recited poems on several occasions in Bangladesh and abroad.
The programme is being organised in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh.
