Rain washes away Tigers’ title hope
Bangladesh’s bid to retain the gold medal was dashed when the Tigers lost the toss to Sri Lanka in rain washed semifinals at Yeonhui Cricket Ground in Incheon, South Korea today.
Sri Lanka initially won the toss and elected to field first in the Asian Games Men's Cricket Competition.
The match later on was suspended due to rain when Bangladesh scored 59 runs losing three wickets in 11 overs.
The super over also could not be played as the condition deteriorated. The Match Referee Venkatapathi Raju later decided to spin a coin to decide the match's fate.
Bangladesh lost the toss and fell out of the finalists' run.
Now, they will be facing Hong Kong for the third place in the tournament.
