The probe body investigating seven murders in Narayanganj handed over a progress report to the attorney general (AG) office for placing it before the High Court.
The attorney general office will submit the report to the HC tomorrow, Deputy Attorney General Nazmul Haque told reporters.
The deputy attorney general however did not disclose content of the report.
Deputy Secretary of law ministry Mizanur Rahman handed over the report to the AG office in the afternoon.
The HC bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Gabinda Chandra Tagore is set to hold further hearing on the issue tomorrow.
In line with a High Court order, the government formed the seven-member committee to investigate into the abduction and killing of seven people including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam.
With this, six reports have been submitted to the AG office on the seven-murders in Narayaganj.
Apart from the probe body, the ministries of home and public administration, inspector general of police, Rapid Action Battalion and Criminal Investigation Department submitted the report.
On April 27, Nazrul and his four aides and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were kidnapped from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road around the same time in broad daylight. Six bodies, including that of Nazrul and Chandan, were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river on April 30, and another was found the following day.
The other victims are Swapan, Tajul Islam, Liton, Jahangir and Ibrahim.
