Work with people to combat terrorism, PM to party men
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called upon her party men to work with people collectively to combat terrorism and evil forces in the country.
“There will be no room for terrorism and militancy in the country. We along with people will have to fight against evil forces. We will have to forge a unity against narcotics, terrorism and militancy,” Hasina said while addressing a programme at her residential office Gono Bhaban in Dhaka this evening.
The prime minister also underscored the need for people’s attachment with the efforts and warned that the people who are involved in killings and arson attacks will be tried appropriately.
Referring to the BNP-Jamaat’s violent activities, Hasina said they killed hundreds of people across the country in the name of oust-government movement earlier.
“These are acts of terrorism. They (BNP-Jamaat) will be tried on the soil of the country,” Hasina said denying BNP’s claim that the party men have been implicated with baseless and politically motivated cases.
The people, who patronised the war criminals and sheltered them, will be tried like those who committed crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War in 1971, he sounded a note of caution.
Haw was addressing the concluding session of the Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC) and Advisory Council meeting at Gono Bhaban which was adjourned at Tungipara of Gopalganj on Tuesday.
