Quader’s remark baseless: Fakhrul
BNP today termed AL leader Obaidul Quader’s comment baseless and denied the allegation that the party during its dialogue with the president proposed former chief justice KM Hasan’s name for the search committee.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also asked Quader, general secretary of the ruling Awami League, to withdraw the remark.
“Obaidul Quader’s statement is totally false. I think he (Quader) should withdraw his comment,” he said while speaking at a discussion at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity.
Zia Smriti Pathagar organised the programme marking the 4th founding anniversary of the pro-BNP platform.
“I want to ask Mr Quader whether they’ve any secret link with the president so that the search committee could be formed in discussion with Awami League. If so, there’s no need to form any search committee.”
Earlier in the day, Quader at a programme at Mahanagar Natyamancha, said, “You (Khaleda) have proposed the name of ex-chief justice KM Hasan whom you wanted to make your chief adviser to include in the search committee.”
“Was not KM Hasan the international affairs adviser of BNP? Then who is neutral? Who is biased?” he questioned.
