Prepare for next polls, Hasina to AL men
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called upon the Awami League leaders and activists to be prepared for the next general election saying hard days are coming ahead of the polls in 2019.
Hasina, president of the ruling Awami League, also directed her party’s advisory council to form sector-wise unit to prepare manifesto ahead of the general election.
She made the call while addressing the party leaders at her Dhanmondi political office in Dhaka this afternoon.
“We will have to prepare ourselves as the national election is knocking at our doors,” the prime minister said.
Elaborating various achievements of her government, Sheikh Hasina stressed the need for a proper publicity of the achievement as vested quarters will misguide people through giving them wrong information.
About the manifestos announced before the 2008 and 2014 general elections, the Awami League chief claimed that almost all of the electoral pledges have already been fulfilled and in some cases, her party-led government has done more than the pledges.
She also said that a huge development would be done in the country if Awami League remains in power.
Claiming that BNP means killing, terrorism and cause of sufferings to the people, she said the party was born illegally and it did not do any welfare of people and development of the country.
