PM fails to realise people’s minimum demand: BNP
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina could not realise any demand of people during India visit due to her “subservient policy”.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has failed to ensure people’s minimum expectation during her India visit,” Fakhrul said while addressing a discussion at the Institution of Engineers’ Bangladesh in Dhaka this afternoon.
Fakhrul said the prime minister herself admitted that something has been achieved from the India tour as she said she did not return home in an empty hand and electricity will be given to Bangladesh in exchange of money.
“The present government is maintaining subservient policy. Therefore it was not able to realise any demand. Besides, late president Ziaur Rahman had forced India to go to United Nations regarding Farakkah barrage, he added.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is still fighting to restore democracy in the country, Fakhrul said.
Terming emergence of militancy a “new weapon” of Awami League, Fakhrul said law enforcement agencies oppressed BNP leaders and activists branding them as militant activists as they failed to “provide money to the law enforcers”.
