Govt may have to pay heavily if it does not heed call for unity: BNP
BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan today said that the government may have to pay heavily if it does not respond positively to the call for national unity in a bid to combat terrorism and militancy.
“The government’s inaction over the call for national unity might be more dangerous,” Khan said while talking to reporters after a doa mehfil at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka this afternoon.
Jatiyatabadi Sechhasebak Dal, a front body of BNP, organised the programme seeking immediate recovery of ailing Rizvi Ahmed, who is now undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the capital.
Recalling the prime minister’s apprehension over further militant attack, Khan said people’s unity is needed so that the extremism cannot raise its ugly head.
