Consensus must to protect people’s voting rights: Khaleda
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today reiterated her call for talks to reach a consensus on formation of an acceptable Election Commission for holding the next general election in a free and fair manner.
“Consensus is a must to protect people’s voting rights. And thus, the new Election Commission will have to be formed on the basis of consensus instead of a unilateral decision,” Khaleda Zia said.
To protect everyone’s vote an EC on the basis of discussions isn’t trivial or only BNP’s issue. Talks are essential, not a unilateral EC. pic.twitter.com/ZaWvSYf3vT

The former prime minister made the call on her twitter account this afternoon.
“It is not BNP’s unilateral demand but for all. It is not a trifling matter also. People’s voting rights are involved with the issue. Talks are needed in this context,” she said.
