BNP announces 21 more names of national executive committee
BNP today announced names of 21 leaders including an organising secretary and 20 other assistant organising secretaries of its national executive committee.
BNP senior joint secretary general Rizvi Ahmed disclosed the names of the committee at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
With this, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has so far appointed a total of 39 leaders to her party’s national executive committee exercising the power bestowed upon her by the councillors at its 6th national council held on March 19.
Most of the leaders, picked for the assistant organising secretary posts, are new and young, party insiders said.
The newly appointed organising secretary is Col (retd) Anwarul Azim for Comilla Division.
Besides, the assistant organising secretaries are: Abdus Salam Azad and Shahidul Islam Babul for Dhaka division, Mahbubur Rahman and Abul Hashem for Chittagong, Abdul Momin Talukder Khoka and Shahin Sawkat for Rajshahi, Aninda Islam Amit and Joyanta Kundu for Khulna, Akanda Kuddus and Mahbubul Huq Nannu for Barisal, Dildar Hossain and Kalim Uddin Milon for Sylhet, Shamsuzzaman and Jahangir Hossain for Rangour, Mostak Hossain and Abdul Awal Khan for Comilla, Shariful Islam and Wares Ahmed for Mymensingh and Ali Newaj Khoium and Selimuzzaman Selim for Faridpur division.
Earlier, on March 30, Khaleda Zia appointed Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as her party’s secretary general, Rizvi as senior joint secretary general and Mizanur Rahman Sinha as its treasurer.
On April 9, BNP announced name of 15 leaders of its national executive committee.
Of them, seven are joint secretary generals and eights are organising secretaries.
Khaleda and her son Tarique Rahman were elected the party’s chairperson and senior vice-chairman in the council held on March 19.
